End of Fall term 2011

A couple of days before my last paper, I went for a shopping spree. I had to go to the mall with intentions of returning something and to get a lip balm and a couple of stuff. Turned out Aldo was having this sale and I just can't resist it. I got myself a cute faux fur sling bag for 14 bucks! That's a nice bargain.

Bodyshop pun taknak kalah. Buy 1, get 1 50% off. Buy 2 get 1 free. Buy 3 get 2 free. Buy 4 get 3 free. Crazy kan. So I splurged on a new moisturizer, tinted lip balm, facial wipes (to wipe off make up), lip & cheek stain, face brush, and coconut oil for hair. I went to Walmart where I'm supposed to get sanitary pads, panty liners, and tooth paste. I end up filling up my cart with chocolates, candles, pasta, bread, covergirl new lipstick, useless things, etc.

I sat for my last paper this morning. That was the fin of my Fall term. Which means... I'm on a 3-week hols!

Gotta start packing. My flight to Toronto is tomorrow at 5.30 pm.

Powerful women stick together

They say that you only know a small portion of yourself. The rest is up to the outsiders. How much is this portion of yourself that you think you know?

I can list a few to describe myself. I have gotten to know myself better through comments from people who are very close to me:

Negative qualities
1. Extremely indecisive/fickle minded
2. Hot tempered
3. Cranky
4. Unapproachable-looking
5. Defensive
6. Stubborn
7. In denial, etc

Positive qualities
1. I forgive easily
2. They say I have good taste in food
3. Easy going
4. Open minded

I can list more but that would be time wasting. I realize that I am built up mostly with negative characteristics. Does that bring me down? Nay. I know I'm not all saint nor credible enough to become an example, but I know for a fact that bad characteristics doesn't mean you're a bad person.

Chin up, look at the bright side. With all that defensiveness, stubbornness, madness, over competitiveness, who knows one day, all these traits might help you battling against a rival in trying to acquire a million dollar project?

The key is to use your negative traits wisely by channeling them toward a positive outcome. And that, is a sad news about me. I always fail to do so. Nevertheless, I still like to think of myself as a powerful woman with all the qualities I have. I just need to learn that being powerful does not imply the right to oppress.

Dont judge!

Gah!! I admit I'm still a make up junkie. Only wiser. Don't judge!

Big E is here

Exams are here. My room is an utter mess! I'm pretty sure the banana peel next to me is from last week's lunch. I don't have the time to tidy up. If I do, I'd rather be sleeping. Energy is essential at this time. Anyways, this is my first time blogging via Blogger app for iPhone. It's pretty decent. Here's a photo of my laundry (not sure which is clean and which is not). I don't know about the dimension of this photo once its uploaded. My apologies if it goes out of alignment.

Also, good luck to anyone out there who's having exams. Start with bismillah and do your very best! X

Aidiladha

I find it very rude (or I'd say rather reductive minded) to assume I don't celebrate eid mubarak. Of course I celebrate the wonderful occasion like duh.

On eid, members of Malaysian Students Society (MSS) gathered and we had a nice potluck. There were curry puffs, roti jala, curry, nasi lemak, kek batik, nasi impit, lontong, kuah kacang etcetera etcetera, all served on a long table. Ah, I can remember the taste of kuah kacang and fat curry puff. Sangat menjilat jari ok. Me and the girls brought simple desserts to the potluck.

Assorted fruits bread pudding topped with pineapple slices

Kek batik fudge (kerana texture nya yang sangat lembik seperti chocolate fudge)

Fall ;-)

Fall/Autumn is a beautiful season. Everything around has gone brownish, yellowish and reddish. The weather fluctuates between -7 to 15 degrees. Some days are dressy days, some days you just have to put on those fugly rain boots.

Salam aidiladha everyone

A piece of my train of thoughts

Im in the French PC lab now and the keyboard is driving me crazy. I cant find the apostrophe. The “?” mark is somewhere between keys 7 and 8. Weird huh? I get annoyed when people type without punctuation marks. Except for SMSs, or tweets where the length of your text is crucial.

Though November is going mediocrely, there are bits of downs and ups happening. Some of them are inevitably annoying and some are just insignificant.

I get cranky a lot. I find even the slightest thing annoying. I explode when Im questioned. I don’t (Thank you autocorrect for the apostrophe) want to eat something that’s not up to my taste (cerewet). I ignore things that Im too lazy to handle. I don’t hand in any assignments that I find unhelpful or possible for me to do (LOL this is kinda funny and selamber badak). But these are examples of my downs. Don’t know whats gotten into me. Is this what you call seasonal breakdown?

Im very mean, I admit. I stand up for myself, sometimes way too much that I refuse to accept what others believe. I need some time for self-introspection. For now I know one thing for sure, Ive no faith in anything. Don’t promise me forever. Don’t promise me anything. And im not gonna promise anything either. I just don’t have faith. As simple as that.

From my point of view, having to see peoples ability to affect other people emotionally and physically, don’t tell me youre different. Or Im different. Or everyone is unique. Or everyone is different. If we all are unique, or different, doesnt that mean we are all just the same? I firmly believe that we are all virtually just the same, especially when put into equal situations.

Just me rambling. My river of thoughts is flowing in a fast pace.

On the lighter note, today is a good day ;-)

Winter plan

OMG PEEEEOPLEZZ! It is official. I'll be flying my ass off to Toronto, Washington DC and New York City this winter. Yodley yodley yodloo! I bought the flight ticket a couple of days ago when Freddy-Toronto one-way flight fare dropped from 189$ to 109$. Campur tax round-trip jadi 354$, which is wayyyy cheaper than its usual fare iaitu lebih kurang 608$ for round-trip.

I saved frikken 250$.

This calls for some serious shopping. Canada's boxing day is on the 26th December (also known as after christmas sale) and I'll be in Toronto that day. Yippie yippie. Besar gile kedai I'll be like a fat girl in a candy store. Jakon.com you olls.

Wanna visit Ulta and Targets in the States ;) It's been ages since I had a wish list so I'm gonna start having one again. I'll put it at the side bar.

I have to start looking for snow pants cuz I'll be snowboarding nanti. First time okay, dah nak masuk 3 tahun duduk Canada tapi tak pernah teringin nak main anything snow-related. There's one more thing I'm excited about, the museum in Washington DC (damn right I love museums). Haih, be burning holes in my pocket for sure, for sure.

Menu orang bujang malas: Pizza 10 minit

I tengah tunggu daging kurma I empuk ni. Belakang I tadi ada majikan rumah (lol betul ke ayat ni? land lord) tengah repair peti sejuk. Masa tu baru nak menumis bawang putih and bawang merah. Masa tu dah fikir, beliau ni boleh ke tahan bau?

N: Ya know, this is gonna smell a little bit.
X: Oh that's fine. I can take it. What's in it?
N: Just garlic and shallots.
X: Ah, I can smell the garlic.

Selamber jelah kan. Pom pang pom pang, taruk pulak serbuk kurma. Dia dah mula batuk sekali dua. Lepastu bunyi hidung dia srot sret srot sret. Then dia batuk lagi.

N: Is it bothering you?
X: Nope!

(2 minutes after)

X: *COUGH COUGH COUGH* I'm gonna get some stuff from the car.

(Gone for 10 minutes)

MEGA L. O. L. S

Any college students here? Anyone living at by themselves and too lazy to cook yet they're tired of eating canned food or take outs? That's me back in college. Then dad bought me a portable electric stove. Then I started making simple meals like fried rice, scrambled eggs, french toast and etc. That was the start. :-O Yeap, I only start cooking by the age of 19. And they're not even proper meals! Dah masuk first year dekat University of Alberta sana baru belajar masak nasi. Horhorhor!

Anyways, I don't know why but Saturday is like Kitchen Day to me. I have been in this kitchen since 2pm today and it's 5.08 now. I'm gonna make red velvet cupcakes again today. I made them last Saturday but they end up tasting like chocolate cupcakes. But they're pretty tasty tho, cuma I wanted red velvet not some boring ol' choc cupcakes with cream cheese frosting. I have the pictures, I'll post it tomorrow.

I had three midterm papers in two days (Thurs and Fri) so stayed up all night up til the time of the exam. Yesterday, I was awake for 25 hours then I dozed off at 10pm after watching "Bini-Biniku Gangster". Cute story!

I was too exhausted to cook and all my housemates pun busy dengan paper masing-masing. Semua tak masak. So I decided to make mini pizzas, which I named it Pizza Saploh Minit. Yes, saploh not sepuluh. Cuz I'm that cool.

Try to use fresh ingredients. They taste better :)

Start by pre-heating the oven to 175 C.
You can also use the microwave. I assume you have either one, if not tak dapet lah den nak nolong ye.

Basic ingredients: pita bread, pizza sauce, shredded cheese (I used mozzarella and skimmed cheddar), hotdogs, green pepper, mushroom, and diced tomatoes.

Before topping it off with shredded cheese

Add mozzarella and skimmed cheddar. Or, just cut your regular cheese into smaller pieces and tabur aje. You can add a dash of black pepper to top it off if you prefer. I forgot to.

Let it brown in the oven for about 8 to 10 minutes.

You can add pineapple and sliced olives if you wanna add a twist of sweetness. I personally am not fond of having pineapple and especially olives on my pizza. Lagipun, this is after all menu orang bujang yang nak cepat aje. Bila masa lah pula kita nak beli olive ni? I memang selalu ada sayur and hotdog dalam peti sejuk. Sos pizza and roti pita tu jelah kena beli dekat convenience store.

You of course can add as many ingredients as you want to, but the name says it all: menu orang bujang malas. Kalau nak lagi malas, makan roti pita tu jelah.

Eid 2011

Here's my promise to you. I know I'm almost err . . . 2 months late? Lol. My bad.

Sorry there's no family photos. I choose to keep it private. That's just how I roll.

Happy belated Eid Mubarak, people! (Entah-entah Nada seorang je blogger atas bumi yang masih wish orang selamat hari raya)

I dapat raya 7 hari aje dekat Malaysia. Orang lain semua buat open house on second week of raya. I tak sempat hadir pun! Sedihnya. I'm sorry some of the photos are badly pixilated. That's because I downloaded them from Facebook.

Am I macho now? - Eid @ Johor Bharu

A couple of days before I depart for Canada, I sempat buat open house. Last minute punya. Nasib baik makanan catering tu boleh tahan. Terliur pula ingat balik dekat kuah lodeh malam tu.

He who has no passion has no principal or motive to act. - Claude A. HelvTtius

Upon reading other people's blog and tumblr, a little jealousy has manifested through the frown of my own face. They're so passionate about what they do. Passionate towards beauty, the designs of buildings, football, vehicles, money, animals, etc. I don't think I'm passionate about anything. That's sad. I'm a woman of no passion therefore I have no principal or motive to act. Does this fact make me uninteresting, plain, empty, useless, mediocre? I don't know.

GM experience

As I'm typing my house is literally shaking. Upstairs 3rd floor where the loft is, my landlord is trying to install the air conditioner. I guess they need to dig a hole through the wall first? The room up there is so frikken hot an air cond is a must. As for the rest of the rooms in this house, we have windows big enough to air around. We have no heat problem. So. . . no air cond for us sobs sobs.

I've always liked green tea but I used to only drink it when I'm at a sushi or any Japanese restaurant. They asked me why do I like green tea? It tastes bitter, and almost like plain water. Me myself never understood why, I just like the feeling of having warm green tea down the throat. Me and D started drinking green tea with honey on a daily basis (well...sometimes we forgot) months ago just because that's about the only healthy thing we consume. The results are evident but I want something different this time.

My Green Monster, looking nasty but tastes wonderful

As promised, I said I'd give it a try. Surprisingly, it tasted nothing like a baby's throw up. You can barely taste the spinach at all. I tried to vary my GM concoction such as adding lemon juice, oat and wheat. Lemon juice is a no no, unless you wanna add bitter taste vege like kale (the green cabbage you use in salads). The juice will cut down the bitterness of the kale. As for me, I find the simplest and best concoction is:

1 to 2 handfuls of spinach
1 banana
half cup wheat or oat
1/2 or 1 cup milk or soy milk (depends on the consistency you desire)
Honey (optional)
Ice

Other common ingredients are cucumber, carrots, kale, berries, and yogurt too. Add more to get more vitamins and happiness! Lol.

It's anti-ageing, detoxifying (poopie!) and energizing. It increases body defence against diseases, smoothes and clears out skin, improves hair and improves digestion. And trust me, I need all of these.

Spinach is an excellent source of bone-healthy vitamin K, magnesium, manganese, and calcium; heart-healthy folate, potassium, and vitamin B6; energy-producing iron and vitamin B2; and free radical-scavenging vitamin A (through its concentration of beta-carotene) and vitamin C.

Too much info, just give it a try. I'm sure you'll love it too.

Oh, I still drink green tea with honey cuz it's still just too good.

Green Monster

It's a Saturday and I woke up at 8 in the morning because, ehem, miss Nada, needs to do some shopping at the farmer's market. I wrote a post about the place. I had to carry heavy loads of fresh vegetables and fruits and walked back home whilst holding the umbrella. It was a bit chilly too. So imagine that. Everyone was wearing rain coats and boots but not me! Explains the wrinkled toes and wet dead leaves sticking on my calves. Gua pun bedal jelah.

I've got spinach, broccoli, peaches, bananas, plums, onions and etcetera. Bought a banana-strawberry smoothie too and it tasted wonderful.

Okay what's up with me? I'm attempting to eat healthier. I've been attempting this since last summer. But I am so inconsistent! I'm somewhat thankful to not have K* here (he's in another part of Canada) because boyyyy, he'd scold me for eating junks and 70% of what I eat is either unhealthy or junks. The other 30% is somewhat good i.e. rice, yogurt and potatoes harharhar. He takes good care of what goes inside him. Sometimes too good that I think it's ridiculous and I'd turn around and roll my eyes in disbelief. Lols.............

Speaking of spinaches, I had spinach frittatas last couple of weeks at Jim's and Kim's.

Posted this on Facebook with caption 'Welcome to our new crib'. I think I got 80% of them fooled. Gotcha.

Spinach frittata (erti kata lain, telur dadar campur sayur haha) and blueberry pancakes.

The recipe is quite simple. Eggs, cream cheese, spinach, onions, bell peppers, butter, salt and you can add more colourful vege to make it pretty and tasty.

Now, the main point of the post. Spinach smoothie. I found this recipe from a vegetarian blogger, whose name and blog page I could not recall. I am that amnesiac. But it's okay it's not like the smoothie is copyrighted by her or anything. The name of the smoothie is Green Monster!

  • 2 cups organic spinach
  • 1-1.25 cups milk (your choice of cow’s milk, soy, hemp, almond, rice, etc)
  • 1 tablespoon flax (a type of oilseed, but I prefer barley powder or wheat germ) (optional)
  • 1 banana
  • ice (optional)

I must say it does not look appealing in any way.  It looks like a baby's vomit.

But I'm gonna try it nevertheless. I'm sure it's gonna taste like my own throw up but if it's tolerable, I might consider drinking it at least twice a week as a start. If not, I'll just use the remaining spinach for cooking haha. Me . . . . healthy eating . . . so wishful thinking. At least I'm trying to make it happen rather than just talking about it.

Freddy welcomes me back

Gosh, haven't been on blogger in ages. Guess where I am? In Fredericton already! I wanted to post an official eid mubarak post with lotsa pictures but I accidentally bent my memory card. I'm trying to get it fixed tho.

School started a week ago. It's not that bad, for now I guess.

I've moved to a new place, somewhere more spacious and beautiful. I'll show you around once I get everything settled. I haven't finished unpacking yet, the boxes are everywhere and this whole house is a mess. The flooring is still under construction and also some parts of the house. I am excited to doll up the house nonetheless.

The walls of my bedroom are blue and yellow. It's like Easter, only everyday! Cute, no?

Grocery list

Mom and me are going out to Giant later. "Bibik, barang apa perlu dibeli?" asked Mom. "Sudah buat list" replied Bibik. Amboi. She's ever ready. Here's a funny story. About 2 years ago, when she made a grocery list, it was no ordinary list:

Beli:
1. Menggi (Maggie)
2. Pingat batte (Peanut butter)
3. Febris (Febreze)

. . . And today's list:

1. Tepung gamdum.
2. Obat moop.
3. Sefan keras hijau. (Green sponge)

Hihi. Cute.

Tuesday ramble

The violet sky is signifying iftar is gonna knock the door soon. Mommy is still contemplating whether to make noodles or rice with lauk. I prefer the former one. Been eating too much rice (too frequent and too much in amount) these days. Explains how I gained a few pounds since I got back. Tahniah, Nada.

I am not completely sure why I am writing this. But I just feel like writing today.

I'll be throwing a surprise dinner tomorrow night. This one is a little special. I don't know how many surprises and birthdays have I thrown (with the help of friends) just this 1.5 months. I guess I am much of an event planner rather than a businesswoman-to-be. Maybe that should be my part time job, you know, just to get some extra moolah.

It is now 7:06 pm. Gotta run some errands tonight. Subang I go, to meet D and a couple of friends. We. need. to. discuss.

I feel mentally tired. It seems that my mind is perpetually plotting, thinking, calculating, memorizing. Boleh jadi gila macam ini. I also think it is healthy to turn off my blackberry once in a while. K thinks I am constantly in a middle of something when I'm with him. He doesn't know that I am just like that, even at home. I guess I just need to take a chill pill, sit back and watch Nat Geo.

I'd like to rearrange the furnitures in this room someday. Prolly I should paint the walls too. To make things a little interesting, I'd like to get a very bright vanity desk juxtaposed starkly with the warm toned walls and furnitures. Yes, I'd like that.

Salam ramadhan al mubarak.

Wrapping up July

Let's talk about July. I don't even know where to start. July was a very hectic month for me. In a month, I've been to about 5 birthday parties, two islands, went abroad (Singapore je), volunteered for Relay For Life, had a slumber get-together, watched Malaysia vs Singapore (didn't watch Malaysia vs Liverpool as I sold the tickets away) and what more. I don't even remember! I've gone dark caramel sebab berjemur dekat pulau lah, dekat padang UKM lah. But the highlight of the month is the Redang trip. I get to snorkel with the sharks and grotesque looking sea creatures. The Universal Studios Singapore was awesome!

Watched so many movies this month. KL Gangster was good, I've always had this weird liking for rempit-ish or samseng-ish boys. Harry Potter was . . . not up to my expectation. Mr. Popper's Penguins was okay. Kung Fu Panda 2 was hands down hilarious! The Hangover 2 was funny too, but the prequel was way funnier.  Rise of The Planet of the Apes was not bad either but I missed a few scenes cuz K* had some digestive problem whilst watching the movie. I'm sure I've watched more than these but I forgot.

So far, it is an amazing summer break. Can't wait for Aidilfitri! Balik kampung dekat Johor Bharu.

End of Second Year

I'm done with Spring semester. My head was about to explode during the last exam. I couldn't take anymore of it. Business Law is just way out of my league. I can never study things that require a lot of memorization, repetition, complex terms, and all that stuff. I find myself to work best with numbers such as Calculus, Financial Accounting, Mathematics, and Statistics.

Business Law = fail!

The same goes to Principles of Finance. I'm usually good (at least I think so) in perpetuity, interest rates, annuity and yadda yadda but I'm not sure if it's just me or it's the professor that makes the subject so hard to comprehend! Never in my life that I am close to 100% certainty that I will fail the subject. This time, if I do pass . . . Lord, You are so merciful. I promise to be better :(

My grades are pretty competitive but semakin lama semakin merosot sedikit. Kenapa? Why baby why?! Takpe, semester depan cuba lagi. Jangan cemas-cemas ye semua.

Oleh yang sedemikian, berakhir lah Tahun Kedua saya di University of New Brunswick. Sekarang ni apa yang saya perlu buat ialah mengemas rumah, tidy up sana sini, pack baju-baju masuk dalam luggage because this princess is coming home :-)

Tiba-tiba rindu rambut panjang.

Hamilton

As promised, here's the story. Briefly lah I'll tell you. Last couple of weeks, me and D decided to do something crazy. It was Thursday morning, we cut school and booked a flight to Toronto on the same day. We hopped on the next flight which was in 2 hours from that moment lol.

I don't have any acquaintances in Toronto but thanks to my good friend who coincidently was in Toronto for a visit, we spent the night exploring some parts of Toronto without getting lost. Thanks S for the hospitality!

The next day, me and D took a bus to Hamilton, which was an hour away from Toronto. Ada agenda sikit.

I seriously thought we wouldn't be so welcomed sebab diorang tengah ada final exam. It turned out that everyone was so sporting, welcoming, and friendly. Eventho the time spent was just about 4 days, gaya macam kenal lama je ek? We will surely come again :)

July programs

"As part of the Liverpool FC Asian Tour 2011, Standard Chartered is delighted to invite you and your guest to be a part of our great fanfare on Saturday, 16th of July when Liverpool FC takes on the Malaysian XI team.

As our guests, you will enjoy the unique opportunity of mingling with the Liverpool legends, ‘The Goal Scoring Machine’ Ian Rush and former Liverpool captain and assistant coach, Phil Thompson.
You will also have special access to our VIP hospitality amenities onsite at the Bukit Jalil stadium."

I've got two free tickets to Liverpool FC Asia Tour 2011 and OMG I'M LIKE SO GOING~ (Pura-pura excited) I don't even know the names of the players. The only one I know is . . . Gerard. Or is it Gerald? LOL. So I don't think I'd be 'mingling with the Liverpool legends' but I'll definitely take photos! Who else is going? I might leave early as I am volunteering for Relay For Life 2011. I wanted to promote this healthy program to all of you and maybe recruit more volunteers? But I totally forgot :(

Relay For Life is an over-night event, celebrating the lives of cancer survivors as well as to remember the lives of loved ones who have lost the battle. It is a high-spirited event where everyone in the community can join in the fight against cancer. It is a day filled with fun, comradeship and festivities. A time when people you know and people you don’t know team up to raise public awareness about cancer in the community.

Throughout the duration of the event, individuals, survivors, teams, companies, schools will take turns to walk the track to relay the message of cancer. Non-stop. From dusk till dawn.
*Courtesy of RFLMalaysia

One more event that I am excited about is obviously the annual National Cheer Competition (9th and 10th July). As always I will only be attending the final round which is on Sunday, 10th July. Can't wait to see how advanced the competing teams have become.

More info about Cheer 2011: Rage.com.my

Looking forward to these events, Redang and Singapore trip, and also our spa visits (thanks to mydeal.com.my for burning holes in my pocket). Also, I'm gonna do something with my hair next month.

Webster's Fall, Hamilton, Ontario

Last Thursday, as you might already know, I went to Toronto city. Not just Toronto, we went to Hamilton and Montreal as well. It was all spontaneous and surprising, crazy, funny and so stupid at the same time.

Location: Webster's Falls, Hamilton, Ontario.

It's pretty darn scary. I'm afraid of heights so this was sort of my own version of Fear Factor. I was literally at the edge. Enjoy.

Stuck in Montreal

No, not visiting Montreal. Stuck in Montreal. Funny story.

Let's just say it was the weirdest most random week ever. On Thursday evening, me and D decided to cut school for the day and hop on the next  plane to Toronto, which was exactly in 2 hours.

We were supposed to be back by Monday but . . . it's Wednesday now, 6.20 pm. The next bus to Fredericton is scheduled to depart at 10.30 pm and arrive around 9 am Thursday. There goes my whole week of school (I have classes only on Mondays and Wednesdays).

Because we're that stupid, that's why we're stuck. Long story cut short, we missed our bus back home, took a different bus of the same route, stopped at the transit station we're supposed to and taddaaa! The next bus to Fredericton arrives in 16 hours. Sixteen frikkin hours.

We're in some hotel right now. Slept for 5 hours until the hotel owner came into the room asking us to check out, unless we pay more. OH EM JAY BABYGIRL you can't just bash into my door and ask me to leave, ever heard of knocking?

Apparently, we're supposed to check out at 12 noon. I swear we checked in at 8 am and the receptionist said check-out is at 12 midnight. The hotel owner was a french speaking (because it's Montreal) Indian. I find it interesting for a moment when she was all "blablabla" and pointing fingers at me. "I don't speak French" said I. Then, we got into an aggressive argument. I was so pissed I wanted to check out as soon as possible, took my tooth brush and woke D up.

Thank goodness D was calm and called the receptionist and agreed to pay another 20 bucks just to stay until 10pm. Why didn't you just tell me it was 70 dollars? It could have been easier than bashing into the door and asking me to leave. We had 20 bucks each and a credit card. This is like Survivor.

Calming, soothing, quiet. These three words perfectly describe today's weather. I rose to the sound of the gentle knocks on the door and was really reluctant to take a shower right away. These days, nothing seems motivating to me.

I showered after an hour of procrastination. Made myself tuna sandwich and drank a cup of green tea. Mom phoned from afar, from some place called Astana in Russia. I wonder how she put up with her work. I wonder if I could put up with my job in the future.

I made myself comfortable on the couch, attempting to finish up an essay I was assigned to do. It then occurred to me, that annoying heart beating feeling. That piece of memory you wish you could tear it away from your head, shake it up a little bit til it breaks into smaller pieces, and flush them down the toilet. I've caused so much pain to people and to myself, been so selfish and self-centered that it eventually leads me to losing something I thought was not as valuable as it is right now. It is a little silly, come to think of it. How easy it is to gain and lose, to love and unlove, to promise and break, to hold and let go, to come and go.

I genuinely believe that I can fix the damage I've caused. In so many ways I believe it is utterly possible. But what would you do if fixing is not an option? That depends on you. Some people would persevere, some give up and walk away. But I am a firm believer in second chances and if there is none, I know good things fall apart so that better things fall together. God is almighty.

C'est la vie.

April got us fooled

Hello, how is everyone's weekend? It ain't weekend for me because final exams are starting next week. Plus, it's snowing again when it's supposed to be Spring already! It's been snowing since November or December (can't recall) and we thought it was over. Flowers are blooming, pedestrians are seen walking their dogs everywhere, flip flops and shorts are back and oh the sun never looked so bright. Well we thought wrong when mother nature decides to give us the BEST APRIL FOOL EVER!

Yesterday was a bright 10 degrees day. Everyone was wearing shorts, tank tops and flip flops. Today, it's like Narnia. I'm not joking. It's down to -7 degrees and the wind is crazy!
