Lecturers

I have such weird lecturers this semester.
My Management Science lecturer has the thickest Indian accent. And he ends each of his questions with "nah?" macam orang Melaka.

"You have to try and make an effort to get an A, nah?"

EVERY FREAKING TIME.

And he never sees us raising our hands. Uh, that's because he never opens his eyes when teaching! How could that be possible? When he distributes sheets, he always misses the back row like the people back there are non existent. And we have only 2 rows in that class -_________-" He's old, I get it.

My Philosophy lecturer is worse. The weirdest man ever. He likes to immitate Gollum from Lord of The Rings.

He keeps on doing that voice and doing that . . . that . . . weird body movement. And that "My precious . . ." line over and over again. Whaaaaaat?
But I enjoy his lectures. Didn't know philosophy is actually interesting ;-)

My favourite prof would be my Principles of Marketing prof. His name is Reginald and initially I thought this person would be a she. Turns out this man looks like a lieutenant colonel. He sounds like a spokesperson for live football in the 80's. I don't know how to describe it but once you hear him, you'll go "A'AH LAH!". What I like about him is he keeps everything short and simple. He comes in 10 minutes late and leaves 20 minutes early. He believes that an effective way of teaching is to be short and compact.

Omg, I baru teringat sesuatu. I promised something but I totally had forgotten all about it. Ah typical me ;) The the next post will be about my shopping spree during Boxing Day.  I promise! (Pinky promise)

Tokyo Noodle & Bubble Tea

I'm a big big fan of Japanese cuisine and bubble tea drinks.
Put me somewhere deserted, add a sushi bar and a bubble tea store, all is great.
I haven't had sushi or any Japanese food in ages. Okay, 4 months to be exact. Back in Malaysia, I eat sushi 3 to 4 times a week. My personal favourites are Sakae Sushi and Mr. Teppanyaki. But I often go to Sushi King because Takoyaki (sotong ball), Kanitama maki (Deep fried crabmeat and cucumber topped with mayonnaise) and Tori Karage (Deep fried chicken on sushi rice) are in the menu. I eat both deep fried and raw. Beef Teppanyaki is my favourite wei, siapa-siapa nak ajak date, bawa I makan teppanyaki and sushi okay ;)

So in Edmonton, Amy and Aimi belanja makan dekat Tokyo Noodle House. I didn't like the ambience; dark, moody and scary too. But the food was good enough to satisfy my craving. Plus, ada Amy, Aimi and D, mestilah best kan? I ate too much wasabe my nasal felt like it was about to blow!

Spider roll (Deep fried spider crab wrapped with rice and avocado)

With D. Green tea is always my choice

Kimchi Ramen

We paid a visit to Dream House Bubble Tea for desserts. I ordered avocado bubble tea. I love love avocado drinks man. Taro (yam) flavoured is tasty too.

Shaved Ice + Taro + Mango + Lychee + Susu pekat

Toys, games and play cards are made available for stay-in customers to enjoy while sippin on their delicious beverage
What a happy day it was ;-)

First day of school

I had a dance practice session today. Yeah I'm into hip hop now just so you know. I just learned the popping move and moon walk today. Soon, I'll be like Michael Jackson. LOLJK. I'm joining the Malaysian Cultural Night this February so I was forced to "Joget". Siapa cakap joget melayu isn't hard? I'm as stiff as a twig right now I can't even do that lemah lembut tangan. Okay moving on.

First day of school! Wasn't that bad. I'm taking six subjects this semester. My enrolment for the 7th subject was denied because apparently BBA students are only allowed to take up to 20 credit hours per term. Pfffft! I'm a transfer student and I have a lot of subjects to do so that I can graduate in 4 years. But policies are policies huh? I rest my case.

So the first class I attended was Managerial Accounting. I came sharp at 10.00 am thinking pupils were just starting to settle down and probably the lecturer wasn't in yet. I thought wrong . . . The whole class was filled with only one vacant chair. It was literally in the middle of the class. I had to squash in. I guess the unlucky ones had to bear with my ass gliding through their desks.

I went through my course outline and I found out that there will be a group assignment consisting of two people.  Instantly I started scanning the whole class to identify any nerd asians to be my potential partner. Primarily because I have had bad experience teaming up with the locals and YEAH I'm generalizing and being stererotypical SO WHAT? And girl, I felt rejoiced when I saw the person next to me was a middle-age asian man who looked like the infamous high expectation asian father:

Just after the lecturer said "Discuss with a partner . . ." I turned my head towards him and ecstatically said "You want to discuss this with me? You know how to do it? So what do you think?".
And you know wutttt? He looked SO LOST like I was speaking Greek. Watakwan?!
Uh hello Mister, did I stutter you? His mouth cracked open a little but his eyes were everywhere. Man, you have just shattered my dream into pieces. Now I need to find another partner ;-/

ASIAN GUY, Y U NO BE LIKE MY EXPECTATION?

Then I went back home, fried an egg and ate. The end.

White escape Part II

The trip was so random. One evening we were playing cards (cho tai ti), the next day we were on the roads. 2 cars. 12 people. 2 days 1 night. Credits to Bijan for the photos.

Our hotel

It was probably -19 or so that day. We wore such thin clothes. Other visitors had thick wind-breaker jackets on them and even goggles lol. Perlu ke? We couldn't stand on the ground for too long, our feet felt painful. The chill could penetrate my thick wedged boots. The boys had put on just sneakers and standard socks that day. Oh well. Minus 19 C is nothing compared to the weather in the coming February!

Back in Freddy

I was away for 2 weeks and now I'm back peeps. Goodbye Edmonton, hello Fredericton. Lots to talk about but pffftt as if I am gonna spill it here. I blog privately using wordpress. Blogger ni general audience, lain sikit penulisan dia.

My winter break kicked off awesomely. As expected, good things will eventually end. There's a myth saying if you get too happy, you will get too sad later on. And it's proven, sadly.

School started last week. Yes, I skipped a whole week. Tomorrow nak gi kelas ke tak huh? It's midnight and I have just arrived a few minutes ago. We'll see.

Will update later.
